Dr. Irwin Schussler has been in private practice as a psychiatrist for over 30 years. He trained at The University of Florida. Dr. Schussler is board certified in adult, child, and adolescent psychiatry, and is a fellow of the American College of Neuropsychiatry, a Diplomat of the American Boards of Psychiatry, Neurology, and Child Psychiatry, and a Diplomat of the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry. He served as director of Psychiatry at Osteopathic Medical Center of Texas for 15 years, and now has privileges at several Ft. Worth area hospitals. He is a former Vice-Chairman and Associate Professor of the Department of Psychiatry at the North Texas Health Science Center and has had numerous publications & presentations.

Dr. Schussler's training included extensive study and practice in psychotherapy. As a result, his philosophy is that medication is a facet of mental health treatment, but not typically sufficient on its own. He believes the mental health needs of patients are best served by being treated medically in conjunction with therapy.

Doreen Landrum, Ph.D. earned her doctorate from the University of Texas at Austin, and is a fully licensed psychologist in the state of Texas. She is a certified Specialist in Fitness Nutrition, and a Nationally Board-Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist.

She has taught at both undergraduate and graduate levels and has presented workshops on Bipolar and Borderline Disorders, Adult Children of Alcoholics, and on helping children cope with divorce.

Ms. Reaves has degrees in Humanistic Psychology from Southwestern University in Georgetown, and Counseling Psychology from Texas Tech University. She is licensed as a Professional Counselor and a Marriage and Family Therapist. Her training and experience include outpatient as well as inpatient and residential settings, working with a wide range of issues and levels of severity, from age two across the life span.

Ms. Reaves has extensive experience with both child and adolescent groups. She believes that animals are a vital part of the healing and connecting process for people, and has recently been involved in the emerging field of equine therapy, where she has witnessed some truly remarkable occurrences. She has presented workshops and trainings on play therapy, group therapy, therapy with severely abused children, and natural social and emotional development.

Philosophy
Ms. Reaves strongly believes in prevention and early intervention, as well as allowing individuals with past or present emotional challenges to work at their own pace over the long term. She has a variety of experiences that she draws upon to provide an open, safe place to do this work. Ms. Reaves informally began her career as a psychotherapist while still a teenager, teaching people of all ages to swim comfortably and safely. When a pre-school child about to jump off the diving board for the first time looks over at her mother and calls out, "I love you mommy," there is much more going on than learning to swim. Therapy involves similar risk-taking, such as trusting in the therapeutic relationship and facing uncomfortable or unfamiliar parts of oneself. Ms.

Philosophy
“I believe we can become ashamed of events in our lives, or carry past regrets.  Without addressing these issues, we might come to believe these problems are a part of us, and become negative toward ourselves and others. We may begin to experience and internalize pain and suffering which can affect our daily living and relationships. Through counseling, you can experience freedom, confidence and kindness toward yourself and others.  Working collaboratively, I will support you in developing the tools, skills and insight to create positive change.”
